This is from the race organizer of Schoolyard Cross: There was a brief mix up while posting our race start info to the ACA website and the SchoolyardCross.com website. If you see a discrepancy between your category start time, please refer to the Flyer on the ACA website to confirm your correct start time.
If you have downloaded a copy of the flyer from the Schoolyard cross website at some point in last week, I recommend deleting it so that you aren't confused come Saturday.
The start times officially are: JM/W 10-12 8:30 am JM/W 8-9 8:30:30 am JM/W 15-18 9:00 am JM/W 13-14 9:00:30 am SM 35+ 9:45 am SM 35+, 4 10:40 am SM 45+ 11:35 am SW Open 11:35:30 am SM Open 12:40 pm SM 55+ 1:50 am SW 35+ 1:50:30 pm SW 4 1:51 am SM 4 2:45 pm SM 3 3:45 pm Singlespeed 3:45:30 pm
Sorry for the scheduling brain damage. Also, please remember that this race will be held on a school campus, so there will not be any alcohol allowed. Pets are also not allowed.
Now for the happy details: Bring your books!!! This bike race is a Global Education Fund Book Drive!! Bring 5 books to donate and you will take $5 off of your entry fee. It's the opposite of a late fee!
Ryders eyeware is providing a free pair of shades as a first lap prime for each Senior category. The winner of each senior category will get a case of Izze. We're busting out the grill for the VBP: there will be brats/Izze available for a donation to the Valmont Bike Park. But wait, there's more Belgian Brat Fun: There will be a FREE Brat/Izze for the SECOND to last place finisher of each category. There will also be other cool prizes and give aways as well.
thanks ac

Can we assume that the SM55+ go off at 1:50 PM? A headstart on the ladies is nice, but we don't really need 12 hours and 30 seconds

You're killing me, birdman.... Just for you: 13:50 is the new start time for 55+! :-) (thanks for pointing out that I don't know which hemisphere I'm in.)
Another question was asked directly to me via email today. "What types of books should I bring?" Pretty much any type of book (no magazines, please) would fit the bill. School books, dictionaries, kids books, cook books, paperbacks. Rule of Thumb: if it is non-offensive, it's okay.
